Technology trends 2024

Technology is fast changing as the years progress, every year we hear something new that seems out of the movies. I saw an advertisement from 5 years ago which seems like a groundbreaking technology but then just a few days ago we heard some unbelievable technology trends and well here are some of the key technology trends for 2024:

Technology Trends 2024:

  • AI Everywhere (AI for Everyone)
Artificial intelligence (AI) is moving beyond just research labs and into everyday applications. We’ll see AI being used to automate tasks, personalize experiences, and even create new products and services. I was just going through this Chat GPT with my colleagues about a year and a half ago, just realized this because a couple of days ago I met with the same colleagues and we were discussing Google’s Gemini which is quite the AI
  • The Rise of the Machines (But Friendly Ones)
Expect continued growth in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) as businesses leverage robots to handle repetitive tasks, freeing up human workers for more strategic endeavors. Though this does take away a lot of jobs of the people then again it creates more… I for one support Machines taking away the tedious tasks and letting people grow into more skills and automate the tedious processes into the simple little task
  • Thinking on the Edge
Edge computing is on the rise. This means processing data closer to where it’s generated, rather than relying solely on centralized cloud storage. This is particularly important for applications that require fast response times, like autonomous vehicles and the Internet of Things (IoT). I was out one day and my friend while having dinner at Subway, realized he left the air conditioner on. He used the app to turn it off and then manage his house electricity by looking at his app and making sure no loss of electricity happens behind his back
  • The Quantum Leap
While still in its early stages, quantum computing has the potential to revolutionize many fields, from drug discovery to materials science. Keep an eye on advancements in this revolutionary technology. I am following this trend as I enjoy this revolutionary step towards new computing. I have just read that China is taking a big step forward and what seemed to be a century process is now just a few decades away. The question I ask myself is whether I would have the opportunity to be able to see it within my lifetime, well I sure hope so!
  • Reality Check
    VR, AR, and the Metaverse:
Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are poised to become more integrated into our lives in 2024. The metaverse, a combination of VR, AR, and other technologies, is also a hot topic, with the potential to create new ways of working, socializing, and even playing. I see young kids playing games on the VR and I wonder why these kids are acting crazy (haha). But then I saw my iPhone and used the AR-created emojis which got me thinking about how far technology has come, where we had clippy on Microsoft Word and now we have our mobile devices created an AR all from our picture (simply amazing)
  • Keeping it Secure
Cybersecurity remains a major concern as our reliance on technology grows. We can expect to see advancements in security measures to combat evolving cyber threats. At my workplace, we are searching for ways to fight cyber threats as every day as technology evolves so do the cyber threats. Special courses are being designed and even degrees in cyber security have started, allowing people to learn more and then the same people can tackle the ever-evolving and challenging cyber security risks.
  • Sustainable Tech Takes Center Stage
As environmental concerns mount, expect to see a growing focus on sustainable technologies. This includes developing more energy-efficient devices and using technology to address climate change challenges. Energy savings have become the main core of all tech-related firms, where their first step is to use less energy and take more work from the same. Not only that, they use technology that does not contribute to climate change and global warming which is a step forward for mankind if they want to survive on this planet

As technology continues to advance at an unbelievably rapid pace, the possibilities seem to have become endless. From AI becoming more pervasive in our daily lives to the rise of edge computing and quantum computing, the future holds exciting developments that make the future look ever more stimulating. While these innovations promise to enhance efficiency and convenience, they also raise important questions about the impact on society and the environment which the tech industry is tackling as time passes by, I must say they make this ever so easy though it is ever more challenging. As we embrace these new technologies, it’s crucial to prioritize sustainability and ethical considerations. Ensuring that technological progress aligns with our values and contributes to a more sustainable future will be key and I must say that global warming has become a very big question mark whenever a new tech comes into the game. With cybersecurity challenges growing and the need for energy-efficient solutions becoming more pressing, the tech industry faces both opportunities and responsibilities, I feel that our tech world CEOs are taking these as challenges and even winning these challenges as time progresses. By focusing on sustainable tech and mindful innovation, we can pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future for all.

I can see the world is ever evolving as tech becomes more AI friendly plus it allows the human mind to take more challenges with open arms… I can sense that the near future holds the key to addressing major concerns about our planet and interplanetary travel, alongside the areas of solving poverty and learning ways to fight diseases but for now, these trends hold the fort in the tech side of things in the year 2024, let’s see what the future holds…
